2008 Tournament

The 2008 Trading Agent Competition was completed in July 2008. TAC-08 featured two games: the supply chain management (SCM), and market design (reverse TAC, or “CAT”) games. Preliminary rounds began in June 2008, involving 32 teams (14 in SCM, 11 in CAT, and 7 total for the two SCM challenges) from 10 countries. A full list of participating teams is available.

Based on the qualifying and seeding rounds, the 11 CAT agents and 14 SCM agents proceeded to the final tournament, held in conjunction with AAAI-08 in Chicago, USA on 14–16 July. The first day of SCM quarter-finals and CAT finals coincided with the Workshop on Trading Agent Design and Analysis (TADA-08), where researchers presented their latest results on trading agent technology.

The competition in both games was once again fierce. Although the table below lists only the top-scoring few agents for each game, many entries exhibited strong trading strategy. Complete SCM-08 score tables are also available.
